Built in 1500, Tratzberg sits high above the Inn Valley, between Kufstein and Innsbruck. This historic site has served as a hunting lodge for both Emperor Maximilian and the wealthy Fugger family. The late Gothic edifice was subsequently extended and opulently refurnished during the Renaissance period. Since 1848, the palace has remained in the private ownership of Count Enzenberg. It has since remained well preserved and fully furnished. A panorama train takes visitors from the parking lot directly to the palace. Walking time: 20 minutes. Adequate parking for coaches, tour groups welcome. A visit to Tratzberg Castle is a wonderful adventure for the entire family, regardless of weather.
